Capcom Officially Reveals Megaman 11, Coming 2018

Capcom is continuing the main series of Mega Man games with a new entry and art style.(and many consoles!)

Mega Man fans were given a massive treat in regards to the future of the long-running platformer series. During a recent 30th anniversary livestream celebrating the series, Capcom revealed Mega Man 11 will be launching in late 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
In a trailer covering the history of the Mega Man franchise, seen below, Capcom ended the journey through the timeline with a short reveal of the next entry in the main series. Thankfully, the Mega Man 11 clip was gameplay, giving players a chance to see how the new art direction for the series will look during play.
While the game will retain the core elements of the original series, including side-scrolling and platforming action, the new 2.5D art style will give Mega Man, his environment, and the enemies a new look. Players can see a sample of the new art direction for Mega Man in his upcoming adventure below. The left side art is the redesigned version of the robot for Mega Man 11, while the right shows off how Mega Man will transform his appearance when using a Robot Master’s ability. Previously, Mega Man would merely change color when using an acquired attack, but now, his buster and helmet will get a fresh look, too.
While the release window for the game was a vague “late 2018,” it was announced more details would arrive during the summer. Players will likely get the additional info during next year’s E3, with a release in either the fall or early winter of 2018.
In addition to Mega Man 11, Capcom is expanding the series in other areas in 2018, too. Every entry in the Mega Man X series will be heading to the current generation of consoles, including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, while the recent Mega Man Legacy Collection and Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 will arrive on Nintendo Switch with amiibo support.
