Everything you need to know to prepare for Destiny 2’s first big DLC

Make sure your console is prepared for the launch of Curse of Osiris.

Destiny 2‘s first big expansion is out next week, and Bungie has revealed all the details that fans need to know to prepare.
Curse of Osiris will release on Tuesday, December 5th. It will go live following a period of maintenance on that day, but players who have pre-ordered the DLC will be able to begin preloading the game during that time in order to dive in as soon as maintenance ends. Here’s the schedule:
  • 8 a.m. PT: Maintenance begins, and those with pre-orders can begin preloading the game.
  • 9 a.m. PT: Any players still in the game will be “removed from activities.”
  • 2 p.m. PT: Expected completion of the maintenance and the launch of Curse of Osiris.
Before this begins, players will want to ensure that they have enough space available on their hard drives to download the DLC. The requirements are pretty different, depending on which system you’re playing. PlayStation 4 players will need to free up 88GB of space, PC players 68GB, and Xbox One players only 44GB.
If you bought the Expansion Pass for Destiny 2, then you’ll automatically get Curse of Osiris. Otherwise, it will cost $20.
